Big thanks to Bob at Carte Karuta for generously donating this deck!
Choose your card for the week from The Deva Tarot by Herta Drnec and Roberta Lanpher (published by Piatnik). When making your selection, don’t worry about what the cards mean. Base your choice on the pictures—the stories they tell and how they make you feel.
Let us know which card you chose—post a comment!
You may notice that there is an additional suit to this deck, Triax. According to the LWB, “The fifth suit is called Triax and represents the etheric or spirit. This suit is the bridge between the earhtly and the divine, the physical and the non-physical. When the Triax suit is seen in a reading, it generally refers to events and influences on a higher or soul level.”

I choose the Empress, who symbolizes a creative era I’m entering as I prepare to return to school to pursue an Art degree.

I choose the 3 Discs this week. I was drawn to it straight away and thought of a Dove at the top of the card, hopefully a positive sign of good news this week!!!!!

I choose the Empress as well. Relaxed, cheerful, creative, looking abundant — not sure what to make of the toad stools at the bottom though…

This has been a rough week for me, so I find myself responding to the Moon card. The bright horizon is definitely hidden/buried beneath the path, leaving the way ahead shrouded in darkness. I also notice that the path is uphill and curved, with no end in sight, leaving the destination a mystery. The figures floating above…are they angels…or devils? Time will tell, I guess.
One thing about this great blog I hadn’t noticed before is that the cards are live links to pages that allow for the purchase of the specific decks being showcased for the week…great feature! (Sorry if I was slow to catch on to this! LOL!!)

German seems to be popping up everywhere, now that I know it…
My card is the 7 of Swords. We’ve had one week of school and I feel like I’m juggling a dozen different and unrelated things– I’d like to use those swords to pin them down! Then maybe everything wouldn’t be up in the air…
